History is YOUR-Story!

The biggest challenge facing a historian is to find documentation of what people of a previous time did, thought, said, felt and so forth! Most of us go through life telling some of our stories to friends and families and that is the extent of it.

Howland Farm Museum feels it is very important to record the memories of local residents of Cayuga County so that our history will be preserved!

We are looking for long time residents to volunteer to tell their story, wether it's memories specifically about the Howlands and their farm or rural life in general! Wether it's recollections of a particular snow storm or a special summer! Wether they are your own memories or stories passed down to you by your parents or grandparents!

People's individual stories are what make history interesting, personable and relatable!! If you would like to share your memories and have them recorded to inspire, entertain or educate future generations, please contact us!!

You will be invited to sit in a comfortable location indoors or outdoors either here at the museum or at your own residence, and you will be able to just talk! We will ask everyone some basic questions for a foundation, but other than that, whatever you want to share is up to you! And however long you'd like to share is up to you too!

Howland Farm Museum is so grateful for your participation in weaving the fabric of our collective history though storytelling!!
